Tokyobike Rentals RECOMMENDED COURSE 02
Mar 10, 2020

We no longer offer Tokyobike rentals but these spots are very much still worth a visit!
At THE KNOT TOKYO Shinjuku there is a bicycle rental service available from tokyobike for a fuller experience of Tokyo. Centering around THE KNOT, our local maps feature neighborhoods like Nakano, Shibuya, Nakameguro, Setagaya, and even places likes The Imperial Palace – all locations that are a short bike ride away – and tiny hole-in-the wall spots you will not find in any guidebook or riders map. This time we introduce a recommended course in the Sendagaya area.
PLACE 1
Tas Yard
A local cafe/restaurant with an adjoining food shop, GOOD NEIGHBORS’ FINE FOODS. Produced by interior design firm Landscape Products as a “place of necessity for ourselves”, the place has become a regular spot for locals.
3 Chome-3-3-14 Sendagaya, Shibuya City, Tokyo 151-0051

PLACE 2
PLAYMOUNTAIN
Same producer as Tas Yard, Landscape Products. This select interior and home goods shop reflects their lifestyle philosophy. The product lineup focuses on simple and modern crafts and design products from all around the world.
〒151-0051 Tokyo, Shibuya City, Sendagaya, 3 Chome−52−5 #105

PLACE 3
THINK OF THINGS
An office supplies and home goods store run by stationery company KOKUYO. They also serve delicious coffee and small bites than you can choose to eat-in or take-away. A minimalistic green court- yard at the back is a perfect getaway in the center of the city.
3 Chome-62-1 Sendagaya, Shibuya City, Tokyo 151-0051

PLACE 4
Enseigne d’angle
A kissaten or classic Japanese coffee shop tucked away in a basement. A refuge from the crowded streets of nearby Harajuku, Enseigne d’angle (“the sign on the corner” in French) serves its coffee strong and its cheesecake rich.
3 Chome-61-11 Sendagaya, Shibuya City, Tokyo 151-0051

PLACE 5
Hatonomori Hachiman Shrine
A Shinto shrine best known for Japan’s oldest “Fujizaka” (a small replica of Mt. Fuji made from lava rocks from the actual volcano, subject for religious worship) built in 1789. Also known to be welcoming to cyclists as they sell amulets protecting cyclists from traffic accidents.
1 Chome-1-24 Sendagaya, Shibuya City, Tokyo 151-0051

PLACE 6
YOGORO
A highly addictive curry shop with a cult following as indicated by long lines at lunchtime. Its most popular offering is a spinach curry that offers a unique take on the classic Indian dish saag/palak, but that is neither typically Indian nor Japanese.
〒150-0001 Tokyo, Shibuya City, Jingumae, 2 Chome−20−10 小松ビル 1F

PLACE 7
no. 501
A natural wine shop in the front with a wine bar hidden in the back. The wine bottles are displayed like works of art in this shop. The bar offers tapas dishes made from uniquely Hiroshima ingredients, the owner’s hometown.
SEIZAN 外苑 前 1F, 2 Chome-5-4 Jingumae, Shibuya City, Tokyo 150-0001

Have a good ride!
