First Anniversary: Thank You Party

After almost 40 years, the Shinjuku New City Hotel closed it doors and opened the way for lifestyle hotel THE KNOT to be established in its place. To show our gratitude for the warm welcome from the community over the past year, we will host THE KNOT Summer Festival 2019 as part of our first anniversary celebrations.

There will be yatai (the ubiquitous festival – matsuri – food stalls), live music sessions throughout the hotel, and most definitely summer-themed food and drink.

The live music has been conceptualised by musician Calm and will include performances from koto and percussion players. The sounds produced by these old-school instruments reconnect you to the fundamentals of rhythm, somewhat lost in the modern day.

Hotel guests: please contact the front desk about an invitation if you will be here on the day of the party.
Non-hotel guests: if you would like to come and are also here on the day, please visit one of the below shops from today for an invitation.
Please note that you must bring the invitation on the day and that up to two people can come per invite.

NOTE: because there will be live performances in the entrance area, there will be loud noises in the hotel for the event duration. We sincerely apologise for this. We chose these musicians for their fit to THE KNOT and for their unique and easy listening style – we hope you will agree.
